Inspired by Bucolic Bucks County

Artist: David Hahn, Winter in Bedminster, 28 x 18" horizontal. Acrylic painted directly on to the acid-free board.

David did an impressive heavy impasto winter scene for us last year and it drew a lot of attention. The quality of this piece really must be viewed in person. Come and see it shadfest weekend. It's all about the fish at shad fest 2011.

The shadfest (shad fest, shad festival) art scholarship fund poster auction is a small part of the award winning two day event that typically happens the last full weekend of April every year and has been for 30 years. This year because Easter is late the event is pushed to April 30/May 1. shadfest 2011 is a huge street fair in downtown Lambertville, NJ. Enjoy arts & crafts, live music, kid's activities, historic shad hauling demonstrations, an amazing food court, limited edition commemorative T-shirts and lots more.

This is all in celebration of the spawning of the American Shad, Alosa Sapidissima, up the Delaware river this time of year while the waters are still cool. Look for dishes prepared locally with this high in Omega 3 fish. Try the roe, a unique delicacy.

Be sure to see the shad fest benefit poster exhibit/auction at the First Presbyterian Church Rec. Room at 31 N. Union Street.

It's a great weekend to discover this beautiful little historic city nestled on the banks of the Delaware river. Great shops, restaurants await you. Come to people watch, just come.
